Born on Manitoulin Island, raised in Whitefish River First Nation, I’ve spent a whirlwind of 28 years reconnecting to my culture, who I am authentically, and slowly (but surely) the pieces have fallen into what I consider a chaotic, beautiful, and creative master puzzle, which I’ve come to truly appreciate.

I’m no stranger to hardships (we all are, right?), as an artist I believe in authenticity and transparency (it’s also important to my philosophy as a photographer), in 2020 I gave birth to my first son, and too shortly after he had passed away. I came back to photography with a different understanding of “fleeting moments”; in life, a photo is sometimes really all we have left.

Which is ultimately what continues to draw me to this field.

Moments and memories are constantly moving past us and it's become a true passion to capture said moments and memories. The joys, the laughs, the tears, the hugs + smooches, this loved one, that loved one, and everyone/everything in between. Crafting and creating your experience so it can be kept forever through images, and the ability to offer that to you is a gift I truly cherish!
My work is based on witnessing the life you've created with a documentary approach through natural prompts and keeping it true to what I see vs. telling you to say "cheese!" over and over again. However, you can bet(!) I am not opposed to saying it once, maybe twice, throughout our shared time!

I believe in life not needing to be so serious and I do my best to live by laidback and low-key. The lives we build for ourselves are a testament to our resilience as individuals, and with resilience comes our own kickass stories. So we deserve to take the photos.
